Dear Parents/carers
As you are aware the Welsh Government have closed all schools to the majority of pupils with effect from today.
Parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response have been identified as key workers, and childcare will be provided for these children from Monday 23rd March. Following guidelines, a household with only one key worker has been included, however, if anyone else in the household can safely care for the child this is what is strongly advised.
As part of the national effort to combat the disease, our school will provide this care for those pupils next Monday and Tuesday for school hours only. If you are already self-isolating you need to complete your 14 days before any return to school. This includes children who attend Pips Bach whose parents are key workers.
Powys County Council will be organising sites to continue the childcare from Wednesday. The exact centres are currently being negotiated. They will issue a list of the sites that will be open for this purpose as soon as possible, and school will let relevant parents know.
However to safeguard all pupils and staff and to limit the potential spread of the virus, every child who can safely be cared for at home should be.
It is vital that Government advice is followed by all parents, particularly that if a member of your household display symptoms the whole household should self-isolate for 14 days. School will also continue to send home immediately any child that displays a persistent cough or a temperature.
Yours sincerely
K Jenkins
