Learning today to shape tomorrow
Dysgu Heddiw Er Mwyn Llunio Yfory
Welcome to our class page. We are very busy little people who love to have fun. We are enjoying settling in to Big School. Here is our class family!
This term we are setting in and 'Getting to know you' is the basis for our topic work. The Topic web below shows you some of the activities we will be exploring in the various areas of learning.
We love to draw so we made a class Art Gallery to show off all our lovely creations.
Hello Yellow World Mental Health Day
We wore yellow to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day. We enjoyed 'The Colour Monster' story. We talked about yellow being a happy colour, and shared what makes us happy.
Our Class is a Family.
We have been building relationships within our class, making friends and helping each other. We have talked lots about our families, the similarities and differences. We have also explored how our class is a family, and how we all look after each other with our school 'ways of being' which are Safe, Ready and Respectful.
Diwali
We enjoyed learning all about traditions associated with Diwali celebrations of the Hindu festival of light. Look at our amazing display of Rangoli patterns and clay Diwa lamps. We also enjoyed learning a traditional Diwali stick dance.
Remembrance Day
We talked about the importance of wearing poppies, and shared a two minute silence in our classroom to show our respect. We worked together to print 'A field of remembrance' for display in our local Royal British Legion.
Bonfire Night
We worked together to create this beautiful firework collage. We thought of noisy words to describe the sounds the fireworks made, and drew ourselves watching around the bonfire.
The Gingerbread Man.
We used Pie Corbett's storytelling actions to retell the story. We baked Gingerbread Men, but unfortunately one ran away! We made posters and left him notes in the hope that he would come back. We made him a house and lots of lovely friends which we used to decorate out class christmas tree. Eventually he came back, and we were so happy to see him!
