Our ‘Big Idea’ for this term is
‘Let’s Explore!’
To launch our new topic, we discussed and shared our ideas and sorted them into the six areas of learning.
We used laptops to create mind maps of our ideas linked to our topic ‘Let’s Explore!’
To begin our topic, we set up an experiment to find out which substance would melt ice the fastest out of:
We discovered that salt was the fastest substance to melt the ice, whilst sugar was the slowest.
Daily Temperatures
We have also set up a weekly challenge where we measure the classroom temperature each morning and afternoon, and then calculate the mean average every Friday!

Our Work on the Titanic
Our focus over the last few weeks has been on the Titanic. Here is some of the great work we have produced!
Our Stop Motion Animation Project!
First we worked in pairs to design and create our own air dry clay models of the Titanic and icebergs. We also painted a night sky background.
Next, we used the iPads to carefully record our animations and then edited them using iMovie!

Spotlight Remembrance Week
Our Autumn term spotlight week was all about Remembrance Day. As part of our learning, we wrote WW2 free verse poetry and created some beautiful artwork.

This term, we have worked so hard in teams to plan and create model Anderson shelters. We are very proud of them!
