To celebrate St David's day we enjoyed a Welsh week. We made cawl in our mud kitchen and made and enjoyed Welsh cakes. We found out about lots of Welsh traditions and enjoying Welsh dancing and our mini eisteddfod in class.
Excavating dinosaur bones.
We learnt about Mary Anning and the fossils she discovered. Then we looked closely at some real fossils and created our own using clay.
Investigating coprolite ( fossilised dinosaur poo!) to identify if it belonged to a carnivore, omnivore or a herbivore.
The children have named our new topic ‘Extinct!’, these are the things they would like to learn about.

We made magic catchers to catch some of the magic from our wishing willow. We will use the magic to spread kindness, happiness and love.
What would you most like to see in a magical woodland? The children collected data using a tally chart, created a pictogram and then interpreted their data.
We identified the trees in our wild area by looking closely at their leaves. We looked at their trunks too and made bark rubbings. 🌳🍁🍂🍃
We went on a fairy hunt. 🧚♂️🧚♀️
We found out about people from all over the world, different abilities and different types of families. We found that that we are all unique and we are all special. ❤️
We measured the circumference of different tree trunks using non standard units.
We have had lots of fun exploring our own magical woodland.
