Wellbeing
At our school, wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and supported. By nurturing the whole child – their emotional, social and physical needs – we create the foundations for happy, confident learners who are ready to thrive both in school and beyond.
We achieve this by:
1. Working on our 'Healthy bodies, healthy minds' ethos.
2. Building resilience.
3. Foster a strong school community (see Leadership).
4. Working closely with families, carers and other agencies.
5. Understand that mistakes are part of learning, and we all make them.
6. Provide emotionally available and enabling adults who will listen, guide, support and help.
Our example work:
Our children looked at lots of posters and made a list of all the things a good poster needs to have – big writing, information, a picture - colourful, eye-catching. They made posters about being a good friend and used their criteria to evaluate their own and each other. Their posters were so impressive they displayed them around our school to help everyone to be a good friend.
