Summer Term 24

This term our whole school topic is 'Take Action'. Here is our topic web and brainstorm of things we would like to learn about this term.

We have decided to 'Take Action' in our Wild area to make it more environmentally friendly. We started by using a Wild Spaces survey to collect data about how it is now, and to identify ways we can improve the area to encourage Wildlife. We hope to raise our score before the end of term!

Chinese New Year

Spring Term 

   This term our topic is 'Our Wonderful World'. We used the book 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers as a starting point for our discussions. We shared lots of ideas around what we already know and what we would like to find out.

We used Google Earth to take a closer look at our world, country and town. We found places that are important to us in our world.

Autumn Term 23/24

Take a look at our Learning Journey board through our first full term in big school. 

Work hard, play hard - we have been working so hard practising for our Nativity. When we aren't singing, dancing or reciting we have been enjoyng our christmas crafts and role play areas.

We have been very busy in the second half of the Autumn term. We have learnt about Diwali, Bonfire night and have continued learning about ourselves as part of our topic 'Who are We?'. We have explored the idea of DNA and cells through dance sessions with Impelo, and explored how we are all different. We measured each others heights to find out who was the tallest and shortest in the class. We have explored length through the story 'Stickman', where we enjoyed lots of activities that involved ordering sticks by length. We also took part in 'odd socks day' for Anti-bullying week, and explored the story 'Rainbow Fish', where we thought about what makes a good friend.

We have really enjoyed our first half term settling into 'Big School' We have made friends, talked about our families and have our own little class family too! We have explored the seasonal changes of Autumn, and have had great fun both indoors and outdoors.
