Welsh at Ysgol Cefnllys

At Ysgol Cefnllys, Welsh is a central part of our ethos and identity. It is taught discretely, but it is also woven naturally into daily school life as a language we use and value as a whole community. We use incidental Welsh regularly, and our Criw Cymraeg are actively working towards achieving the Silver Award. Each fortnight, pupils are encouraged to practise and use Welsh through our Question of the Fortnight. Formal Welsh lessons take place weekly, alongside daily Helpwr Heddiw sessions daily across the school, Tric a Chlic in the Foundation Phase, and Welsh guided reading as part of a carousel of Welsh activities for our older pupils.
