Online safety

At our school, keeping children safe online is a vital part of our safeguarding commitment. We recognise that today’s pupils are growing up in a digital world, and it is our responsibility to help them learn how to use technology safely, responsibly and respectfully.

Our Commitment to Online Safety

We work proactively to ensure that all pupils are taught the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the online world with confidence. This includes:

  • The use secure filtering and monitoring systems to help protect pupils from harmful content while using school devices or networks.
  • Online safety is embedded across our curriculum, including whole‑school assemblies.
  • Children learn about privacy, passwords, healthy online behaviour, safe communication and how to evaluate information they find online.
  • We encourage pupils to develop positive digital habits and to speak up, if something worries or confuses them.
  • All staff share responsibility for online safety and understand the importance of modelling safe and responsible use of technology.
  • We work closely with parents, carers and other agencies to promote online safety in the school, at home and in the community
  • Children are taught that if they see something online that makes them feel uneasy, unsure or upset, they should always tell a trusted adult.
  • We foster a culture of openness so that pupils feel able to ask questions and seek help when needed.
  • Our Online Safety Policy outlines the standards and expectations for pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Any concerns are dealt with promptly through our safeguarding procedure.

By working together, we can ensure that all our children learn to navigate the digital world safely, confidently and with kindness.
