Sports Ambassadors

Our Sports Ambassadors are children from Year 5 and Year 6 who take on leadership roles to promote physical activity, teamwork and healthy lifestyles across the school. They are positive role models who encourage all pupils to get active, stay healthy and enjoy sport. Their work supports the values of the School Games and contributes to a happy, active and inclusive school community.

Sports Ambassadors help to make playtimes, PE lessons, clubs and school events more enjoyable for everyone. They help lead fun games and support staff with warm‑ups, organise equipment, and help younger children join in confidently. They also play an important part in planning activities, promoting physical engagement, and encouraging children who might be less active to take part.

As part of their leadership role, our Year 5 and 6 Sports Ambassadors also help present weekly sport‑related awards.
These awards celebrate:

  • Sporting achievement
  • Positive attitude in PE
  • Teamwork and fair play
  • Determination and effort
  • Participation in playground activities

This responsibility gives Sports Ambassadors an active role in recognising and celebrating the effort and progress of their peers while modelling positive sporting values.
